Cosmos 27 Program: Venera. Launch Site: Baikonur . Launch Vehicle: Molniya 8K78M. FAILURE: During unpowered coast in parking orbit the escape stage Block L lost stable attitude due to a loss of the the power circuit of the pneumatic valves of the attitude control and stabilisation system. Mass: 890 kg. Perigee: 197 km. Apogee: 209 km. Inclination: 64.8 deg. The stage with payload remained in Earth orbit as Cosmos-27.
