1. Early in June a pilot version of OCN WEB site is put in Internet
(http://www.civnet.obninsk.org).
2. In the framework of the "Leadership-Obninsk" program (implemented
by Not-for-Profit Partnership "Community") a seminar was carried out (May
12) devoted to the OCN project. The students of the program were acquainted
with the contents of the project and course of its realization. On May
26 the "Leadership-Obninsk" participants executed the task connected with
the development of the recommendations on OCN information resources. The
analytical summary on this work will be prepared in the middle of June.
3. A volunteer attracted by the "Community" developed and launched
a WEB-site of charitable Obninsk Community Foundation (http://www.comfund.okclub.org).
The presentation of this site was held on May 12 during Round Table organized
by Obninsk Union of Entrepreneurs - one of the OCF participants. The "Maxnet
Systems" has also put the OCF site on its server (http://www.comfund.obninsk.ru)
4. Not-for-Profit Partnership "Municipal Informatics" finished a project
of the creation of a new WEB site. This is the site of the Social Executive
Committee of Obninsk City Administration (http://www.social.obninsk.ru).
The site became a resource of the OCN. The uniqueness of the project is
in the fact that it for the first time in Russia the site (interactive
information system) allows anybody to trace financial flows within the
Social Executive Committee of the City Administration.
5. The "Municipal Informatics" and JFK "OCIC" have launched a new project
"Open Authority". In the framework of the project the city Resource Center
"Open Authority" will be opened. The Center will be based on the existing
OCN resources newly created resources. Mission of this Resource Center
- to become a basis for constructive dialogue between the third sector
leaders, initiative groups of the city community, and authorities. The
Resource Center becomes a mechanism that will attract citizens to city
information resources. The Resource Center will be developed stage by stage
during several years. The first stage is dedicated to financial problems
of the city. The decisions developed in the process of the Center creation
will allow using the obtained experience and methodical materials in other
Russian cities.
6. The first in Obninsk Internet shop on sale of auto oils and auto
cosmetics is included in the OCN resources.
7. The members of the Consortium implementing the OCN project ("Maxnet
Systems", OK_Club", "Municipal Informatics") made a decision to support
and sponsor an initiative group of Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering
Students on the establishment of a new newspaper "Light in the Internet".
The newspaper will be printed (á4 format) and put in Internet (http://www.lightnet.obninsk.ru).
8. On May 3 Yuri Koftan - Director of the OCN project - participated
in broadcasting of the "Radio Obninsk" to tell about the project, its purposes
and opportunities. An opportunity for any city resident and not-for-profit
organization to get free e-mail address and to put their HTML pages to
the OCN Internet site was announced.
9. On May 19 the founding meeting of the "Obninsk Bookkeepers' and
Auditors Club" took place in OK_Club. Among the founders of the new club
there are the OCN Consortium members - OK_Club, International Academy of
Modern Knowledge, Obninsk City Administration.
10. On May 26 the solemn presentation of the Presidential Decree on
official status of Obninsk as Naukograd (Science City) was held in Obninsk
House of Scientists. Among the participants of the presentation there were
the Minister of Atomic Energy Mr. Adamov, the Governor of the Kaluga region
Mr. Sudarenkov, Obninsk authority bodies, many city organizations, representatives
of 16 science city of Moscow region.
