This glossary is aimed at social services professionals, students of social work, interpreters and other specialists working with partners in English-speaking countries. The Glossary provides translations and/or explanations of about 400 terms commonly used in social services and social work. Basic terms are divided into sections for each specific field and those marked with an asterisk appear further in the Commentary with a longer explanation. The alphabetical list features more words for which translation rather than explanation is given.

The Glossary has been produced at the request of Perm Regional Committee of Social Protection, in cooperation with the BEARR Trust and Oxfordshire Perm Voluntary Action Link.
