The business of art lies just in this--to make that understood and felt which, in the form of an argument, might be incomprehensible and inaccessible. - Leo Tolstoy

Every man passes his life in the search after friendship. - Emerson

One of the primary motivations of Friends and Partners is to help better understand how we live, work, and play. We invite visitors here to describe "day to day" life in their country.

    NaukaNet and the Next Network

The "next generation Internet" is coming and promises a much richer communications media. F&P is working with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) of the University of Illinois and with colleagues at the Kurchatov Institute, Russian Institute for Public Networking, the Joint Supercomputing Center and the Russian Academy of Science - to establish a high speed (155M) Internet service between Russian and U.S. scientific communities. The grant is funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and the Ministry for Science and Technology of the Russian Federation. Please read more about the NaukaNet project at the NaukaNet WWW site.
