The Civil Society: USA (CS:USA) section is an archive of the CCSI publication of the same name. The publication is on its second edition and is still very popular. CS:USA is a compilation of over 150 nonprofit organizations chosen for an important role they play in America's third sector. CS:USA's original purpose was to provide citizens of the NIS with an introduction to the third sector of the United States. The organizations are arranged in 17 different categories, and by a separate alphabetical list of all the organizations. Each organization is described in terms of area of work, budget and staff information, purpose, and background information. All contact information available is listed on the site.

In 1996, CS:USA underwent its own redesign. At that time the information was updated and more information was added from the second print edition. We were also very happy to find that people have begun to make suggestions on groups or organizations in our guestbook. We have received updates on organizations in CS:USA as well as introductions to new organizations through this new source. We hope this interaction continues.
