Although it is patterned after the CCSI English language Web site, the Russian Language section of the Web site is distinctly different. It contains sections such as US-NIS Organizations and NIS Organizations as well as a list of important listservs. But it also has unique sections on Educational and Cultural Exchange Programs, the Internet Resources which include CCSI's publication "Internet for Journalists," and archives of selected stories from the ASI information bulletin (Agency for Social Information Information Bulletin distributed from their Moscow office via e-mail) which gives detailed information on the activities of NGOs all over Russia.

The site is available in the three main Russian fonts on the Internet: Windows/1251, KOI-8, and DOS/866.
Windows fonts are widely available on modern Windows computers, DOS fonts on older DOS operated computers, and KOI-8 is the UNIX system font which is also widely available on the Internet for use on almost all computer platforms. Offering all three fonts ensures that any visitor will be able to access the site.

Newcomers who do not know how to read Russian on the Internet may be intersted in a Russifying your Computer Tutorial. This page briefly explains the use of Cyrillic fonts and gives details on how to find and load fonts onto your computer in order to be able to read Russian and other Cyrillic languages on your browser.
