Master for these four sections

The biggest project was revising our four major sections now appear together in a box at the center of the home page. These four sections have similar layouts: The entries in each of these sections are broken into 15 topics ranging from Agriculture to Youth. Each topic has links to the same topics in the other sections. For example, if you were in the "Electronic Resource" section under the Environmental topic, there are links to Environmental topics in "Print Resources," "NIS Organizations" and "US-NIS Organizations." (Confused? There is a Master Page which outlines all four sections.) Our hope is to make it easier for the Web page visitor to access all the information on the topic they are interested in. Please read on for descriptions of the contents of each section.

The US-NIS Organizations section focuses on partnerships between the United States (although Canadian and European organizations will occasionally show up) and the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union. The US organization can be a large organization sponsoring numerous projects all over the NIS, or can be a small organization or group working with a partner in one city.

The NIS Organizations section focuses on independent organizations based in the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union. These are organizations, for the most part, are formally registered as NGOs in their native countries.

The Electronic Resources section was created out of what was previously five different sections on the old site under the title "Resources." Electronic Resources now has 15 different topics. Each topic separates the different Resources into Listservs, Links and Directories.

The Print Resources section was a much-neglected section on our old site. Die-hard Internet junkies may forget there are still important resources that are not on the Internet. The resources in this sections are items that are available only in print (items that are available in print AND on the Internet are placed in "Electronic Resources.")
