- Minsk’s IDC Invites Observers to
Belarus Elections IDC invites political leaders, active members
of political parties and youth political organizations, and scholars and researchers to take part in a political
seminar in Minsk and to join a team of official foreign observers during the elections and referendum scheduled
for November 24, 1996.
- Riga’s NGO Center Connects
Latvian Third Sector NGO Centers Riga was established to promote and support voluntary work in Latvia. It is an information and counseling center and a facility where
NGOs can get assistance and support for self-development and collective actions.
- Zhenset--Women's Information Network in Moscow A women's information network, ZhenSet (WomenNet), has recently been established to collect and distribute
information about women's organizational activities in Russia and the NIS.
- Saratov's Center for Assistance of Civic Initiatives A voluntary organization whose
mission is “to assist the development and recognition of civic initiatives for the establishment and consolidation
of democratic society in Russia.”
- Europe’s Educational Training
Foundation Started its activities
in Turin, Italy in January 1995. It spotlights vocational education in
the NIS.
