Stolen Years Filmed at historic locations throughout the former Soviet Union, this video examines the Stalinist terror through the eyes of its survivors. Through personal interviews and footage from Lubyanka prison, mass grave sites in St. Petersburg and Oryol, and the Butugychag forced labor camp in the Russian Far East, this film provides insight into a time of purges arrests, deportations and executions, which led to the deaths of an estimated 20 million people. Advisor for the project was Robert Conquest, Senior Research Fellow and Curator of the Russian and East European Collection at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
