The soul that is within me no man can degrade. I am not the one that is being degraded on account of this treatment, but those who are infliciting it upon me. - Frederick Douglass

Ekaterinburg (Yekaterinburg)

The following is a list of sites describing this city that was named after the wife of Peter the Great, Ekaterina. Although the direct transliteration is Ekaterinburg, the spelling of Yekaterinburg provides a better pronounciation. Located along the Iset River on the east side of the Ural mountains, this historical city was known as Sverdlovsk from 1924 to 1992 and maintains a fascinating history.

We hope this list will continue to grow as more communities become represented on the World Wide Web so please be sure to let us know if you are aware of any other sites.
