Books of Sergey Esenin (only russian)
Esenin was born on 21 September in Konstantinovo village of Ryazan province.
From 1912 he lived in Moscow and worked as a clerk, then as a proof-reader in printing house.
In 1913 he entered the University as external student and studied there 1,5 years.
Esenin left work and devoted himself to poetical activity. Many of his poems turn to the traditions of Russian folklore.
In 1915 Esenin became acquainted with Blok, Gorodetsky, Klyuev, Andrei Belyi. Later in his autobiography Esenin wrote : "Belyi gave me the meaning of form and Blok and Klyuev taught me lyricism".
His first publications were accomplished in such magazines as "Russkaya Mysl' (A Russian Thought"), "Zhizn' dlya vsekh" (Life for Everyone), "Ezhemesyachnyi Zhurnal" (Monthly Magazine). November 1915 was the date of his first poetic book ("Radunitsa") issue.
During next 9 years Esenin published 22 poems collections more : "Goluben", "Preobrazhenie" (Transformation), "Selskiy Chasosloc" (Rural Breviery), "Klyuchi Marii" (Maria's Keys), "Treryadnitsa", "Ispoved' Khooligana" (Hooligan's Confession), " Strana Negodyaev" (The Country of Rascals), "Moskva Kabatskaya" (Coarse Moscow), "Iisus Mladenets" (Jesus - Infant), "Pugachev", "Pesn' o Velikom Pokhode" (Song About Great Campaign).
Esenin is a dainty lyric, he can express all the nuances of human being soul and mood very skillfully. The "peasant" theme in his creative activity became the theme of national fates, the character of village in his interpretation became the character of Fatherland.
Sergey Esenin's works are the part of Russian poetry golden fund.
