This page attempts to list resources that cover, not just one area of culture in Russia and other countries of the NIS, but a wide variety on their WWW sites.


  • Artcut - Art History *

    This site contains the history of different Russian art forms from the 14th century until the present including architecture, carvings, dolls and much, much more. Different countries will be added in the future.

  • From Russia With Art *

    A database of over 600 modern Russian artists and their works encompassing fields such as music, fine arts, 'Net art , fashion, societies and more. There is also a CD shop. (In Russian and English with an alternate site.)

  • State Kremlin Palace *

    Located in the center of Moscow, this hall is the home of the Kremlin State Ballet. Art exhibitions, concerts, receptions and other forms of the arts are also ongoing at this large building. Conferences, meetings and congresses also take place here. (Alternate URL)

    Linda DeLaine is doing an incredible job with this site. This is a "must visit" site if you're looking for Russian-related information.

  • Amherst Center for Russian Culture *

    This new center contains one of the largest private holdings of emigre Russian books, manuscripts, newspapers, and periodicals of the twentieth century in existence. Details of many of these collections are online and searchable.

  • Russian American Cultural Center at Russia Wharf, Inc. *

    This nonprofit cultural center, located in Boston, Massachussetts, brings the sometimes forgotten, historical and cultural ties U.S. and Russia had once shared through a variety of activites such as dance, music and more.

  • Russian Culture Pages *

    From the Association for International Education, these pages provide a good background on Russian culture. Included are subjects like dance, cuisine, art, architecture plus many more interesting subjects.
