The major problems users faced:
- Low connection speed;
- It is difficult to get through the busy telephone line;
- The line is constantly disconnected.
- To increase the quantity of phone numbers for Dial-Up Samara Civic Net server access;
- To increase the connection speed;
- To establish the mobile group for technical problem solving in the organizations;
- To develop courses on work in programs like PhotoShop, Page Maker etc.

- How many people are there in the technical assistance group? What kinds of technical support are provided? How is Internet access realized technologically?
- System Administrator - is responsible for users� work in Internet, for solving problems of the users, access difficulties, web-page problems, e-mail problems etc. As usual users inform about their problems on the phone or via e-mail. Most problems are also solved via telephone or e-mail. In case of emergency it is possible to go to the internet access point. Tel. + 846 2 78 44 44.
- Operator - controls the users� activities and in case of emergency goes to the points of Internet access while coordinating his activities with the system administrator over the phone.
The group consists of:
- System Administrator,
- Web-design and data bases creation and maintenance specialist.
- On the basis of telecommunication equipment obtained within the grant�the distant access server CISCO 2509 and USR Courier modems there works the distant access knot to the Civic Net through commutation lines. Thus access to Civic Net and Internet resources is realized. Today 11 telephone numbers are used for users� connection. University staff provides class normal functioning, consults the users on the current questions of the Internet functioning.
- Technically the Internet access is realized through 11 phone lines to which users are connected (maximum speed of such connecting is 33.6 Mb/sec) The general channel of connection has the speed of 100 Mb/sec. The speed of Moscow channel is 1.5.Mb/sec.
