Organizational activities
 

• Due to support of our project by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, three computers were given to the Voronezh Juvenile Library. As a result of it, now the Civnet's PAP that is housed by the library can satisfy needs of the much greater number of the users.
• At this time, the PAP at the Voronezh Juvenile Library works in a dial-up mode. In this connection, the coordinators of the project have conducted a working meeting with the director of the library and decided to provide Internet access for the library via a leased line. Also, the technical arrangements necessary to accomplish the mentioned above were discussed.
• The Civnet coordinators continued to work with the editorial officers of the Voronezh State TV and Radio Company. In September, Civnet coordinators have prepared two radio programs describing activities of the project.
• The contacts to more regions and countries were initiated:
The publication on the Civnet's server in Voronezh about the methodical center "Slovesnik" initiated a virtual discussion within language and literature teachers, using innovative teaching techniques. Teachers from the "Slovesnik" center in Voronezh coordinate this discussion. This discussion incorporates participants from a number of regions in Russia and even abroad. Teachers from Tiraspol, Moldova, joined the discussion recently.
Another discussion initiated on one of our interactive pages vcn.vorstu.ac.ru was joined in by the citizens of Israel.

Formation of informational - technical infrastructure

The Civnet's project coordinators continued to collect materials for filling of the server "Voronezh Civic Network" (http://vcn.vorstu.ac.ru).
The new section "Government and administration bodies" is essentially updated and enlarged. The large subsection "Prosecutor's office of the Voronezh area" (http://vcn.vorstu.ac.ru/prokurat/index.htm) is added presenting the following information:

• Legislation news
• Structure of the Prosecutor's office of the Voronezh area
• Customer services
• Addresses of the Prosecutor's offices in Voronezh districts
• Questions and answers etc.

The activity on tracking of the Civnet's server in Voronezh is proceeded, the server has been registered by the catalog Zabor.com (http://www.zabor.com).

Central PAP activities

On the basis of the Central PAP, we organized classes for the school students of 7-11 grades. The total number of students in all groups is 40 persons. The classes will be conducted during the whole academic year on Saturdays and Sundays. Subjects of classes are "Fundamentals of vectoral graphics", "Corel Draw, "Fundamentals of image graphics", "Adobe Photoshop", "Fundamentals of HTML".
The Central PAP continued with the Web-workshop and consulting service. The full spectrum of services, within the frameworks of the project was provided to the visitors free of charge.
The scheduled classes for two groups of visitors, total number 23, were conducted also.
