Voronezh Civic Networking
January-February, 2000
Within the realization framework of the project the following work is
carried out:

There was organized a workshop with project investigators, for discussing
of the organizational questions and planning of work under the project
.

The popularizational activity of project ideas were carried out:

The Director of Regional Foundation "Mass Media Defense Center", Galina
Arapova made a speech about Voronezh Civic Network. The representatives
of mass media from 7 regions of Chernozemye took part in forum's work.

During the realization of the project the preliminary meetings with a series
of organizations were carried out and we reached the arrangements about
information providing with such organizations as: the city newspaper "Bereg",
the newspaper "Zdravstvuy", city philosophical club, Literature Cafe, author's
songs club "Parus Nadezdy", parishes and associations of United Methodist
Church, parishes of Foreign Orthodox Church, Catholic Church, philological
faculty of Pedagogical University, municipal organizations of general education.
Also the contacts with the private persons interested in the publications
of personal pages are adjusted.

On the basis of public access point there was held the scientific - methodical
conference " New Educational Technologies: Global Networks Resources Using
" (February 24-25). The representatives of educational establishments and
Voronezh State University departments (32 participants) took part in the
work of this conference.

The Functioning of Central Public Access Point
During one month the technical and administrative service of central public
access was provided. The number of the registered users within the framework
of the project by the end of February came to 45 men, the number of visitings
is equal to 211 . The users can work at 10 workstations. We provide an
access to Internet, personal mail box, the ability of the network publications,
experts consultations and training.
During February on the basis of Central Public Access Point we
provided the work of Web-studio.

Forming of "Voronezh Civic Network "server
During the period of January and February the collection and preparation
of materials for server "Voronezh Civil Network " (vcn.vorstu.ac.ru)
was fulfilled. Such sections, as " Civil Sector ", "Region News", "Historical
Information ", "Regional Press ", Cultural Life " are complemented.
There was developed the design for " Voronezh Civil Network " server
, the personal pages were developed and prepared for the publication.

Training of civil network's users
The program of training and educational organization forms were
reconsidered accordinf the requests of the first cycle's trainees (January)
remarks and recommendations. Training for two groups, consisting of 32
persons were held in February. After training there were held additional
workshops for discussion of abilities given to civil society within the
framework of the existing project.
