Samara Civic Networking
April, 2000

The time of using Samara Civic Net in April was 835 hours. The quantity of users - 30 organizations.
In April we continued to educate leaders, members and staff of Samara region non-profits in classes "Computer skills" and "Internet for beginners".
There were representatives from 5 organizations visiting our "Computer skills" class (6 people: 3 men and 5 women). In Internet classes we had 7 people from 5 organizations in April (4 men and 3 women).
Within free Internet access class HECA "Povolzje" provided 25 services on access to computers, Internet access etc. (approximately 50 hours in total).
Within the Samara Civic Net we renewed the mirror of the informational resource "Peoples of Russia on Samara region territory", the number of visitors increased to 5400 people (for the period of 1999 - fist quarter of 2000) http://www.civnet.samara.ru/infcent/mirror/proekt/index.htm.
Within the project we developed and placed a new site with a chat "Internet-magazine "Ethnic medium of the multinational region". http://www.civnet.samara.ru/infcent/mirror/project/journal/index.htm.
We have been continuing the work with non-profits' web pages of Samara.
Within the project there has been an agreement signed with Eurasia Fpoundation and Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation) dealing with SCN's participation in the all-Russian project "Virtual mirror of the third sector in Russia".
