Samara Civic Network
March, 2000

Following activities were performed towards Samara Civic Network project during March, 2000 :

  • The working of two Internet-access classes was continued. One class worked on the base of HECA "Povolzje" ( Leninskaya str. 137, 6 computers, from 9.00 till 22.00, workdays). Another class worked on the base of Samara State Technical University ( Molodogvardejskaja, 244, 10 computers, from 16.00 till 20.00, workdays). Internet access for NGO of Samara and region was realized in the classes. Staff provided the consultations on current questions about Internet Network.
  • School "Computer technologies for the nonprofit sector" continued its work. Two courses were studied in the school - "Basic computer skills" and "Internet from zero". Lectures were conducted with groups of 6 students. Courses lasted for 12 hours of education. Education of 3 groups was completed in March - two for "Basic computer skills" and one for "Internet from zero". 56 persons were trained, including 39 women. They represented 12 nonprofit organizations of Samara region. The representatives of following NGOs were trained
    • City charitable foundation "Samara Foundation";
    • Kirov district society of disabled persons;
    • City council of veterans;
    • Lutheran community;
    • NGO Samara regional cultural and educational society of Chuvash "Hastar";
    • Regional NGO of refugee "Samara Refugee";
    • Samara city society of disabled persons "Creative center "Lire";
    • Samara regional society for social rehabilitation of disabled persons "Be healthy";
    • NGO of disabled persons "Geliada";
    • Samara association for social aid and employment of disabled persons "Carefulness":
    • "Slavjanka" club;
    • Traders society.
  • Development of the information resource "Budget of the Samara Region" for the program "Democratic Legislation" was completed in partnership with Lawyer's Union for World Security USA. It was placed at SCN site - http://www.civnet.samara.ru/~povolzje/budget.
  • The work towards the development of information resources "Nations of Russia on the territory an Samara region", " Samara region. Etnos And culture", "Religious card of Samara region", "Calendar of ethnic, ethno-religious and civil holidays of Russia" was continued. Development of the new area; - "Ethnical environment of multinational region" was completed.
  • New structure and design of the section "Information agency of the third sectors of the Samara region" was developed.
  • Structure and design of the site "Library for NGO" were developed
  • Standard web page for NGO was developed.
  • Web pages of two NGOs - Child Foundation of Russia, Samara branch and Russian society of booklovers were prepared for publishing at SCN server with the help of volunteers (SSU students).
