1. activities in Voronezh or other locations pertaining to output :

• The presentation of the project. The wide coverage of this event in media has been provided by the project officers.

• The equipment was received, and all necessary programme products were installed.
• The project officers carried out monthly seminars for the project officers and participants of the project and discussed plans for joint activities.
• An agreement was reached with the editorial officers of the Voronezh State TV and Radio Company to make a series of radio programs communicating the project "Voronezh Civic Network" activities to the public. Fifteen radio programs, describing activities of the project, have been prepared by the project officers together with the editorial officers of the Voronezh State TV and Radio Company during the report period.
• The following preparatory works for opening of 4 public access points were carried out: installation of an access servers, installation of networking tools, organization of the local networks, calibration of modems.
• Presentations of the public access points were carried out. The wide coverage of these events in media has been provided by the project officers.
• The preparatory works for connecting of the Central Public Access Point to the main digital channel were carried out. Two physical lines were installed for this purpose on the segment, connecting Voronezh Intertown Telephone/Telegraph Station and the Territorial Unit of System Channels "Rosstelecom". Besides connecting, additional software for work in digital channel was installed and customized. The preparatory technical work for inserting of a digital flow to the multiplexer "Rosstelecom" in Voronezh and Moscow was fulfilled.
• As a result of a large number of preparatory activities carried out by the project officers, computer park of the Internet-class of Main PAP facility was upgraded. Seven IBM 486 computers were replaced with seven Pentium III/Celeron 433 computers.
• Project officers performed technical servicing and administration of the Main Public Access Point and maintained the entire complex of services based on it, including the sub-project "Web - workshop", full-time advisory service, and Internet � class with ten workstations connected to the Internet.
• Daily project management activities along with great amount of work on expanding contacts with various organizations and individuals, interested in the project.
• Technical and operational support was provided to PAPs and organizations, connected to civnet. Project officers provided technical help and regular consultations to the project participants and organizations, connected to civnet, on networking administration and equipment maintenance.
• The project officers carried out constant maintenance of interaction with all participants of the project.
• In accordance with the librarians' recommendations, the project officers organized the advisory service in business hours of the public access point, functioning at the Regional Juvenile Library.

• Establishment of interaction with organizations interested in the project.
• Formation and management of the civic network technical infrastructure. The Central Public Access Point was connected to the main digital channel.

• Arrangement of a number of well-functioning public access points.
• Formation and further development of the Voronezh Civic Network. Four PAPs have been opened on the basis of following organizations :

• Due to support of our project by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, three computers were given to the the Civnet�s PAP, housed by the Voronezh Juvenile Library.
• Technical maintenance and administration of the Central Public Access Point and the entire set of services based on it, including: the sub-project "Web - workshop", full-time advisory service, and Internet � class with ten workstations connected to the Internet.
• The following tasks have been practically completed: extension of access of Voronezh citizens to resources of global network; granting to Voronezh non-profit organizations an opportunity to publish materials; providing assistance to local communities in design of their own web publications; information support to existing and newly-formed non-profit organizations in their activities.
• Organization of training courses for Voronezh civnet users.
• Establishment of cooperation with representatives of non-electronic means of mass media on a regular basis.
• Establishment of correspondence between Civnet users in Voronezh and citizens of Israel, initiated by the Civnet, became very active. The interactive web page that houses this correspondence attracts a lot of attention.
• The problem of computer upgrade in the Internet � class of the Main PAP facility has been resolved.
• The following tasks have been practically completed: extension of access of Voronezh citizens to resources of global network; granting to Voronezh non-profit organizations an opportunity to publish materials; providing assistance to local communities in design of their own web publications; information support to existing and newly-formed non-profit organizations in their activities.
• Organization of the training courses for the VCN users.
• Establishment of cooperation with officers of non-electronic means of mass media on a regular basis.

• Regular collection and processing of materials for complementing information resources of Voronezh Civic Network was organized
• The work on forming of �Voronezh Civil Network � server was carried out. The trade mark and general design style were developed. The structure of the server, the contents of its sections according to the wishes of the civnet users were developed.

• The activity on tracking of the Civnet�s server in Voronezh was proceeded. The server has been registered by three search systems: (Rambler, Aport, List.ru) and three catalogs: HI (www.hi.ru), @RUS (www.atrus.ru), Zabor.com (www.zabor.com). The exchange of banners was carried out (�Russian Internet Resources�, section Russian Regions).
