According to Kimsanbai Hoja, mufti of Kyrgyzstani muslims, more than 2500 pilgrims are in Saudi Arabia on hadj. Kimsanbai Hoja explained the decrease in pilgrims' number from 4000 last year to 2500 by an increase in costs. If, for example, last year it cost $395 to go by bus this year it was about $600. China and Kyrgyzstan have disputes over 4 sections of their border. Two of them, becase of their inaccesibility and because they cannot be guarded, do not lie in the strategic interest zones of the two countries. About two weeks ago, a program about a crew of the Bishkek-Frankfurt flight of the national airline was broadcast on one of Frankfurt's local TV stations. This program was devoted to airline safety and to the crew's surprise wasn't about checking technical conditions of the airplane but about crew members' level of English. To an elimentary question like "Are you a captain of the crew?" the captain says "Excuse me". One time, according to the newspaper, the airline's plaine floated at some 2000 m above Frankfurt for an hour and many think that this and other problems like this always occur because of communications between pilots and land controllers'.
