Yuri Safonov, professor

Yuri Safonov has graduated with honours from Moscow University of Fine Arts, having taken in two years' time the course of five years.
His paintings were more than once exhibited in Moscow exhibition halls, in Baltic countries, and in some countries of West as well. According to the opinion of English art experts of the company "Stanley Gibbons" he was named one of the 20 top-notch painters of the former USSR whose works were worth of being included into the catalogue "Album of Russian Painting" printed in the United Kingdom.
The Tretyakov Gallery collection holds a great number of his works. His pictures were bought by Michael Gorbachev for his private art collection, they were purchared by some foreign art-lovers for their private collections.
