Andreas Prilop developed several solutions to enable the use of Cyrillic languages on a number of client applications:
These tables are for use with Brian Clark's YA-NewsWatcher 2.4.0. You need such tables in order to read and write messages in character sets other than Latin-1 (Western). Some are new, some are updates of tables included with YA-NewsWatcher 2.4.0.
This patch is intended for use with Netscape Communicator 4.0. It is freeware. It adds Baltic, *complete* Cyrillic, and Romanian capabilities to Netscape Communicator 4.0. You will be able to read web pages in Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, and Ukrainian - using only native Macintosh fonts without installing non-Macintosh (Baltic Rim, KOI-8) fonts. Please note: The "Cyrillic (KOI8-R)" menu in the original Netscape Communicator 4.0 is crippled; it is only Russian. You are required to use non-Macintosh KOI-8 fonts in order to view Ukrainian pages.
Internet Explorer 3.01 supports only the Russian character set KOI8-R but not the complete Cyrillic character set ISO-IR-111. Use this patch to modify Internet Explorer 3.01 so that you can read Ukrainian web pages also.ResEdit is required.
This patch is intended for use with Netscape Navigator 3.0. It is freeware. It adds Baltic and true Cyrillic capabilities to Netscape Navigator 3.0. You will be able to read web pages in Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian, and Ukrainian - using only native Macintosh fonts *without* installing non-Macintosh ("KOI8") fonts. The Cyrillic menu in the original Netscape Navigator 3.0 is a fake. You are required to use non-Macintosh KOI8 fonts in order to view Russian and Ukrainian pages.
These Eudora Tables enable you to send and read e-mail containing Cyrillic letters from the Belarussian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian, Serbian, and Ukrainian languages. They can be used with any version of Eudora.Supported character sets are:
