The Program of the Institute of the Material Culture History Photo-archive Funds Publicity Activities

Institute of the Material Culture, RAS, Saint-Petersburg is the oldest of three specialized photo archives of Russia. More than 900 thousand documents are stored in the funds. They are dated 1840-1997.

The archive contains basic funds on the archaeology of the former Russian Empire and the USSR, as well as wide spectrum of the multinational culture, architecture, historical and culture monuments restoration, church architecture and antiques, ethnography and all peoples and ages art.

Photo archive's activities to open its funds through their publishing will be put into practice through publishing illustrated catalogues in electronic and traditional versions. The assumed structure of the catalogue is included.
