Concerning "Siberian Secrets" Virtual Museum Creation Process

Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography RAS Siberian Branch (Novosibirsk) funds contain more than 3 million exhibits, many of which are unique and extremely valuable.

Investigations are underway according to the two programs:

1. Databases on the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography RAS Siberian Branch collection creation.

2. www techniques and virtual museums creation program.

In 1995 there were designed several web-pages of the forming museum in Internet (e.g. ieie.nsc.ru/arch.html; ieie.nsc.ru/ethno.html).

The aim of the project is to create Institute's electronic collections (videoimages and their hypertext descriptions)at the pages of the Institute's virtual museum. During the realization of the project the data bank of the images and their descriptions will be created.
