Source Studies
of the History of Ulus Djuchi
(1223-1556)

Kazan, June 23 - 26, 1998

In 1998 Kazan State University, The Institute of History (Tatarstan Academy of Science) and The Orientalists Society (Russian Academy of Science) are holding an international seminar on the source studies of the history of Ulus Djuchi (the Golden Horde) covering the period �from the Kalka to Astrakhan (1223-1556)�. Special attention will be paid to the study, survey, analysis and new interpretations of multilingual written sources.

The seminar is to be held from 23 to 26 June 1998 at Kazan State University. The languages of the seminar are Russian, English and German.

We would very much appreciate your presentation in the framework of the topic of the seminar.

Should you decide to take part in the seminar, please, inform the Organizing Committee about your participation and the title of your presentation. We need this information to prepare the program of the seminar.

After publishing the program we will inform the participants about the flights from Kazan to Moscow, Istanbul and Frankfurt as well as the trains.
