SACI 1 Launch Site: Taiyuan . Launch Vehicle: CZ-4B. Perigee: 733 km. Apogee: 744 km. Inclination: 98.6 deg. INPE experimental scientific satellite with a magnetometer, particle detectors and an atmospheric experiment. INPE reportedly lost contact with the satellite in mid-October.

SACI-2 Launch Site: Alcantara . Launch Vehicle: VLS. FAILURE: Second stage failed to ignite; destroyed by range safety. Second attempted launch of Brazil's indigenous launcher.
