Its annual budget is about $60,000. Support comes primarily from the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).

Friends House Moscow is an initiative of Friends (Quakers) worldwide which seeks to encourage spiritual growth and the development of a civil society based on mutual trust and community cooperation. We aim to provide a stable and visible presence in the face of rapidly changing conditions as we express the unique faith and practice of the Religious Society of Friends. We put this faith into action by working for social justice based on our fundamental belief in the presence of God in each individual.

The following activities are carried out by FHM:

• Rehabilitation program for Chechen child refugees in Moscow, addressing their post-traumatic stress
• Alternatives to Violence communication workshop, which is part of an international network of programs offered in prisons and local communities
• Support for programs in Moscow and Novgorod assisting conscientious objectors to Russian military service
• Organization of gatherings across Russia for youth and adults interested in Quakerism
• Financial and moral support in the operation of a model group home for homeless children in Moscow

FHM also conducts on-going programs to teach skills to the physically handicapped in Chechnya, assist Moscow families with handicapped children, and provide emergency assistance to Moscow Quaker Meeting families in crisis.
