American Medical Student Association
Heart to Heart Program

AMSA has Heart to Heart chapters in medical schools in Virginia, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. These programs are responsible for donations of medical books and supplies begin sent to hospitals and clinics in Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine as well as in Afghanistan and India. The site has a brief guide for "Organizing a Heart to Heart Project" for new AMSA chapters, but it is most useful for the general public for a short list of medical charities which will accept suitable donations and pay the necessary shipping costs to specific areas of the world.
