A new essay collection, OSCE-A NEED FOR CO-OPERATION is now available on
the net. It is a non- profit publication from the Danish United Nations
Association. Written by a formidable international cast, ranging from
Russia to Canada, on topics ranging from military co-operation to civil
society, organized crime and energy and environmental security, its aim
is to create informed debate.
Since 1994 the OSCE member states has officially been working towards A Common and Comprehensive Security Model for Europe for the Twenty-First Century. However, despite the stated intentions to shape an enhanced security framework in order to deal with multiple aspects of wider Security the memberstates are showing little real support or interest.
With the Danish OSCE Chairmanship coming to an end without any discernible initiatives concerning the Security Model the Danish United Nations Association is using the opportunity to reenlive the debate about the needs and possibilities for enhanced OSCE co-operation.
