NGO Café‚ was set up on the internet as a meeting place for NGOs from around the world to discuss, debate and disseminate information on their work, strategies and results. The site has both general information for NGO development and specific information for NGOs in specific regions or areas of activity. The sections include:
- NGO Pigeon Holes:
- What exactly is an NGO? How can we define one? "NGO Pigeon Holes" contains definitions and descriptions of NGOs and related organizations.
- Kickstart an NGO:
- NGOs need to develop the necessary resources in order to be able to develop and implement their programmes effectively. "Kickstart an NGO" contains strategies, tools, evaluations and other resources for an NGO.
- NGO Wise Words:
- Recent international events, particularly those sponsored by the United Nations, have increasingly had 'alternate forums' organized for and by NGOs, with many of them integrated within the main events themselves. "NGO Wise Words" links users to various such conferences and events. Includes an extensive list of documents and papers on NGO topics.
- NGO Bungee Jumps:
- Many NGOs are taking advantage of the communicative and interactive ease of the internet and are providing information about themselves and their activities. "NGO Bungee Jumps" provides a listing of links to various indices that list NGOs and other organizations. Includes numerous NGO indexes available on the Web.
- NGO Flash!:
- Events, news and press items on NGOs and related affairs are presented in the NGO Flash! section.
- Looking for Partners:
- With increasing globalization of NGO programmes and projects, NGOs requiring partners, consultants and resources for their activities can post an enquiry or request in this section, much as a bulletin board, s that interested parties can contact them.
