Created in April1996, the chamber currently has 1,300 members representing interests of small and medium business and government in Uzbekistan. It offers free legal advice, business consulting, training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs, and represents the interests of small and medium enterprises to the government. It maintains a computer database of information on local businesses, legislation on private business, and foreign investment, and publishes a monthly bulletin, "Titp-Habarnomasi," providing information about the chamber's activities and private sector news. The chamber has offices in eleven districts of Tashkent.
