The Information Center for Women in Kirovohrad

The Information Center for Women in Kirovohrad was founded in December 1996 by a group of women who work at the regional university's research library. One of the main priorities of the group is to create a database of women's organizations working in the region. They also hope to establish a collection of materials on women's issues and to disseminate information throughout the region. One of the first issues the Center is collecting research on is the problem of domestic violence. In 1997 the Center organized a workshop on women's human rights.
