Association of Realtors of Odessa and Odessa Region

The association was created in 1995 as a legal entity for real estate agents. The association established a school for professional realtors, the first such school to receive a license for professional training. In 1996, it began publishing a newspaper, Birzha. The members of the association founded the New Exhange in Odessa. In February 1998, the association changed its status and membership conditions and became a public organization, which re-registered in April 1998.

The association is now a non-commercial organization that unites individual real estate agents, as well as people interested in the real estate market. It strives to protect the interests of all market agents, develop legislative and economic tools for real estate regulation, define property rights, spread information, assist entrepreneurs who work in the real estate market, and cooperate with similar organizations.

The school for professional realtors trains real estate agents, real estate managers, and appraisers. Together with members of the association, the school has organized seminars for realtors and the public. The association is creating a unified database on the real estate market in Odessa, which will be available to the public. It also provides consulting services to members of association and their clients and has worked in cooperation with the East European Real Property Foundation and Development Alternatives, Inc.
