The center was founded in 1994 at Odessa State Academy of Technical Writers. It conducts research, conferences, and seminars on women's issues, such as "Ukrainian Women: Modern Status and Perspectives." Its publications include The Past in the Name of the Future: Women's Movement in Ukraine in the 20th Century and a directory, Ukrainian Women in History and Today.
