Resistance is a private information exchange center currently attempting to remedy some of the problems faced by the mechanical engineering community in Ukraine. Its mission is to promote free information flow within Ukraine and to assist in the establishment of links between people and organizations involved in mechanical engineering around the world.In particular, the center has started to pursue these objectives through:
- introducing electronic communications to scientists and engineers in Ukraine;
- assisting in the preparation, publication and dissemination of papers, booklets, short communications, advertisements, etc. (especially for international editions),
- identifying professional partnerships for mechanical engineers in Ukraine and abroad and putting Ukrainian engineers in contact with responsible authorities in other countries;
- assisting in and serving as secretariat for the preparation and translation of international program projects; and,
- realizing projects in the field of mechanics, acoustics, physics and engineering. Future activities include the following:
- the production of specialised databases, electronic journals, books, teleconferences, etc.,
- organizing consulting, seminars, exhibitions, conferences, and other meetings that pertain to mechanical engineering;
- the distribution of specialised software on a commercial basis.
