pr. Pobedy 4
The association was formed in March 1996. Its main focus is protection of consumer rights, which "are disregarded despite the fact that the law on protection of consumer rights in Ukraine has existed for five years." With support from the Eurasia Foundation, the association established the Crimean Regional Center for Legal Protection of Consumer Rights in Symferopil, with branches in Alushta, Belogorsk, and Evpatoria. The association provides consulting to consumers, helps them prepare legal documentation, and participates in trials related to the infringement of consumer rights. During the last two years, the association has provided 4,000 consultations, prepared 3,000 documents for various cases, increased its membership by 2,500, and published 52 articles in three regional newspapers and three information bulletins. The association has a weekly show on local television.
