Established in 1995, the union seeks to educate a new generation of democracy-oriented lawyers. It provides consultation and training through its Consultative Legal Center, and helps its members find employment. The union has worked with the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers, the regional Bar Association, and the U.S.-based National Democratic Institute.
