Saratov Business Women's Club is the organization which cares of · professional growth and legal status of working women, increase of their qualification and expansion of their outlook; · which protects their rights on labor and on professional career; · which promotes establishment and expansion of contacts in the world of business for the women having or planning to begin their own business. The aims and goals of the organization: · Establishment of business and resource center for women; · Providing informational assistance on various aspects of women's movement · Supporting women in developing their own businesses; · Social and legal protection of women and members of their families.

Significant events in the Club's activity:

Since 1995 the program on women's leadership has been carried out, the seminars on dialogue and conflict resolution have been conducted. Geography of the project: Saratov and the Saratov oblast, cities: Naberezhnye Chelny, Tarusa, Sergiev-Posad.

Participation in the events in the sphere of ecology and medical protection (in cooperation with Saratov NGO - Medical Association "Health for Children" - Inter-regional conference " Culture, Medicine, Education " in March 1995 (Saratov) and First Public Hearings on Chemical Weapon's Disarmament in November 1995 (Saratov)

In September 1995 together with the feminist e league "Initiative" the seminar "Women and Politics" was carried out, which was organized under the initiative of the former member of our Club, Peace Corps Volunteer from the USA Judy Neiman. The seminar was conducted with the financial and organizational assistance of the NIS-US Consortium of women's NGOs.

In September 1996 the Club has collected on a conference devoted to the status women in a modern society their friends from women's NGOs of the cities of Saratov, Marx and Engels (Saratov oblast).

Since April till October 1995 the psychological-legal consulting service for the women suffering from sexual violence worked. The program has resulted in creation of "The Crisis center", which nowadays works as an independent organizations.

At present the Club conducts legal consulting activity in the sphere of protection of the labor rights of women. The realization of the program was possible with the financial support of the Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation), which has allocated to us the grant for creation of a legal consulting service and realization of a number of training seminars on women's leadership in rural areas of the Saratov oblast.

The Club is the associate member of the Consortium of US-NIS women's NGOs.

In 1998 we were the participants of the program "Female resource center: information technologies, monitoring, leadership" (under the auspices of the US-NIS Consortium). Currently we continue the program by ourselves taking part in information interchange and distributing received materials in the region.

At present the Club is actively participating in the establishment of the women's business incubator with the support from Technopark (Saratov State University).
