Since 1990, the association has worked to develop consumer-oriented legislation and improved goods and services for consumers. The association conducts independent evaluations of products and services and disseminates this information to the public. The information is also used to lobby government agencies for better consumer protection and product safety. In addition, the association offers legal consultations to consumers who feel their rights have been violated and represents these consumers in court.

The group publishes a monthly newspaper, The Kuban Consumer, which contains articles ranging from reports of substandard housing conditions in Krasnodar to warnings about possible allergic reactions to cosmetic moisturizers. In 1997, the group published a handbook on how to protect your rights as a consumer; the booklet contained the full text of the Russian Federation's law on consumers' rights, as well as practical advice from Lyubov Bakhmetova, the association's president.
