The Labour Confederation of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region (LC SPb) is the inter-region union of free trade-unions of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region. LC SPb is a member organization of The Labour Confederation of Russia which unites the largest free trade-unions of Russia and its regions: seamen and sailors, dockers, aircraft controllers, pilots, railway workers, etc.
The delegates from 13 free trade-unions of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region took part in the constituent assembly of LC SPb which took place on Jule 8, 1995. Today LC SPb unites 35 free trade-unions. It is one of the largest union of trade-unions of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region. Also, LC SPb is a member of the St.Petersburg Region Tripartite commission on regulation of social-labour relations.
LC SPb bases its activities on the principle of independence from state and employers and also on the principle of equal rights and cooperation with all organizations that, not only in words but also in reality, fulfill programs of defence of interests of hired labour.
