Brief Organizational History
The
Center was established in 1999 by a group of enthusiastic persons (women and
men) willing to improve the situation of women and children in the Russian
society and to promote assistance to all persons suffered from several forms of
violence and human trafficking.
Projects
Series
of seminars on violence against women in Perm and towns of Perm Region (in
cooperation with the American Bar Association, November 1999 � February
2000, and separately � since February 2000).
Trafficking
in women prevention activity in Perm Region (since May 2000).
Human
trafficking public awareness campaign in Perm Region, Komi Permian
Autonomous District, and the Republic of Udmurtia (May 2000 �
January 2002).
Series
of seminars on trafficking in women in Perm Region, Komi Permian Autonomous
District, and the Republic of Udmurtia (January 2001 � January 2002).
Violence
Against Women and Human Trafficking Informational Center (in cooperation
with the Perm State Regional Library, opening April 2001).
Conduction
of a Fair of Perm NGOs working against violence against women (2001).
Joint
German-Czech-Russian Anti-Trafficking Project (2001-02).
Research
project �Health Care Workers� Awareness of the Problem of Violence
Against Women�.
A
series of seminars for health care workers of Perm Region on the issue of
violence against women (funded by the Mother Care Project).
