The Moscow center is one of a network of centers throughout Central and Eastern Europe created to promote and assist national artists. The center hosts conferences, has established a computerized database of regional artists, a slide collection of artwork from the second half of the 20th century, and a library catalogue and periodical reference of contemporary Russian artists. The center also provides information to artists on the availability of grants and stipends, nationally and internationally, collects information about individual artists' projects, and gallery and museum exhibitions.
In the future, the Center plans to expand its research and instruction activities, and to provide more resources for artists, curators and managers, and students.
