The center was established in Moscow in April 1993 by Orthodox parishioners of the Annunciation Church. Its goal is to provide the public with reliable information about abortions, contraceptives, and their consequences. The center has a paid staff of 10 people and several hundred volunteers. Activities include publishing and distributing educational pro-life materials and delivering anti-abortion lectures at schools and hospitals.
