The institute obtains expert legal advice and offers training for Russian lawyers involved in reforming Russia's civil code. It also provides assistance in drafting commercial legislation and conducts general training courses for Russian lawyers and jurists.The institute has a civil code reform project with the law firm of Ogilvy Renault and the Institute of Comparative Law at McGill University in Canada.
