Internews Russia is a Russian non-profit organization that has been working since 1992 to support independent Russian television broadcasters and the Russian television industry as a whole. Internews programs are based on the conviction that vigorous and diverse mass media form an essential cornerstone of an open society. Internews Russia's projects include: seminars and other training activities on all aspects of the television business from journalism to management; distribution of educational programming; and production of innovative documentary and public affairs programs. With operations in twenty countries, Internews is a resource that can be drawn upon for advice, expertise, and professional contacts all over the world. Internews Russia is also a member of Internews International, an umbrella organization uniting fourteen Internews offices that are local NGOs.
