The Center for Ecological Policy of Russia, established in 1993, publishes reports and analyses on environmental problems and distributes them among public organizations, NGOs, federal agencies, and other governmental representatives. The Center also conducts media briefings and provides informa-tion to international environmental organizations.To date the Center has prepared and published two reports on chemical pollution and health and on chemical weapons in Russia.
The Center is currently managing three projects: examining the environmental and other impacts of plutonium production, including analysis of new, previously classified data; a project on whaling; and work on public interest and environmental law issues.
