The Ferghana Society in Russian Internet Project has existed for more than a year since it gained support from the Soros Fund Moscow Branch.  It has become increasingly popular and is becoming more and more popular among the international community. The Ferghana website currently attracts more than 450 unique visitors a day and the number of users is growing steadily.

The Ferghana society plans to create an informational arena dedicated to the geopolitics, social, and cultural life of the Central Asian States .  It would like to set up a private correspondents network in the region's cities aimed at providing the World Community with a unique independent Internet resource reflecting all the facets of local life.
