Enterprise Support Centre (ESC) was founded in February 1996 with the help of Tacis funding. From June 1998 it was registered as a non-state educational establishment. Company mission is to support business development in the region through training , retraining spacialists, managers in management, marketing, finance. In April 1999 ESC conducted a pilot project for the Stavropol City Employment Office, "Business training for the unemployed." Twelve participants were preselected by the City Employment Office. Nine participants out of twelve became self-employed or found a job as a result of the training. Employment office wants to continue the project, but due to the budget constraints is unable to finance it completely. Therefore the employment office applied to the ESC to find the additional sources of funding. ESC is seeking a donor organisations to finance this training for the unemployed initiative.
