The Center for International Co-operation (CIC) is a new, non-governmental organization which promotes international and interdisciplinary research in order to obtain and analyze current information on social, political, and enironmental problems. The Center will also disseminate this information to the scientific circles as well as national and international organizations.

The Center was created in 1997 at the Department of International Relations, St.Petersburg Technical University (St.Petersburg, Russia) in collaboration with Department of International Relations at the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, San Francisco State University (San Francisco, USA) and International Center for New Democracy and Social Change (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).

The main objectives of the Center for International Co-operation are to:

Current projects include umbrella intersectoral capacity-building in St. Petersburg, Russian-American Exchange, and the Conference on Parliaments as Agents and Objects of Change. Partners in St Petersburg include universities, scientists, NGO Development Center, locil councils, small businesses, and the independent media. International partners include Academy on Civil Society, German Protestant Academies, and the Russian-German Exchange.
