The Women's Forum was established in 1991 to bring together women's organizations and projects in the Tomsk region. The forum reports that an indication of the success of their efforts is that currently 10 of 18 representatives on the Tomsk City Council are women, and two of four of the Tomsk Regional Council of Representatives are women.
