Washington State University and Krasnoyarsk State University Krasnoyarsk, RussiaThe Russian-American Small Business Support Center (SBSC) in Krasnoyarsk was established by Washington State University (WSU) and Krasnoyarsk State University (KSU) to help economic development in Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk territory.
It provides assistance to small businesses through counseling and training. SBSC is funded by a USAID grant. The counselors at the Center are economics and business faculty at KSU.
The Center has been in operation since August and we have had over 100 clients since opening. Most clients of the Center are interested in assistance in writing a business-plan, as well as advice on taxes and marketing.
Recently, we have been trying to develop new projects at our Center such as Business Club, where business people can get together and exchange ideas and establish contacts. So, we are looking for the information on how these business clubs operate, especially in Russia. We have also been trying to start a Student Business Club, which is not common in Russia at all.
Another goal of our Center is to be able to provide more information to our clients. We are looking for information on how to do business and marketing abroad, as well as for information on different investment funds and grants.
